Ernie Els bagged his 64th win of his career last weekend by winning the King Hassan II Trophy at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in the Moroccan capital of Rabat. From the Maghreb Arabe Presse:
After four days of competition, the world top ten player won with a 275 to finish on 17 under par.
Ernie Els, two times winner of the US Open, was followed by Briton Simon Dyson and Swedish Johan Edfors, who tied for the second place.
The trophy, initiated in 1971 by the late King Hassan II, has become the longest running sports event held in Morocco. During the last 35 years, the trophy has attracted some of the greatest golfers in the world.
