For December, the free course download is the Mountain Course at Kona Country Club on the Big Island of Hawaii.
The Mountain Course at Kona Country Club is one of the most scenic courses in the state. The course climbs the steep terrain above Keauhou Bay, supplying lovely views of the coast and sight lines far out to sea. During the winter, humpback whales are easy to spot cavorting offshore. The elevation changes make for some tough golf, however, and distance control becomes imperative. The course doesn’t get as much play as the Kona Ocean Course down below, and often you’ll find secluded golf: just you, your playing partners, and a posse of wild goats.
