For January 2009, the free course of the month is Olomana Golf Links on the Windward Side of Oahu.
In honor of President-Elect Barack Obama’s highly publicized golfing expeditions on his latest Hawaiian vacation, we offer Olomana, one of the courses Mr. Obama played.
Olomana Golf Links is a straight-forward track, wide open and fairly short by modern standards. The dramatic Ko’olau Mountains keep things interesting, as do a few compelling holes. The course isn’t impeccably maintained, but it’s very playable. And, for those non-presidential visitors, Olomana is affordable.
