Gold EVVY for The Golf Fanatic
I flew into snowy Denver from the Big Island on Friday, and on Saturday we were off to the annual awards banquet for the Colorado Independent Publishers Association. The dinner was nice, and the wine flowed, but really we were anxious to get on with the awarding!
They started off with the “tech” awards, and I was gratified to win 3rd place for the layout of The Golf Fanatic’s Guide to Hawaii. The competition was stiff, and since this was the first book I had ever formatted, I’m happy with my placing.
It seemed to take forever to get to the travel category, as they proceeded in alphabetical order, but eventually they got there and Hot Tub Publishing took the gold, first-place EVVY for best travel book. It was a thrill, and a validation that we have put out a really good book. Woo-hoo!
