Hot Tub donates to Hawaii Literacy
Last week, while in Hawaii for book signings, promotion, and, uh, golf, I also stopped by the offices of Hawaii Literacy to make a small donation. Since we put together a book about Hawaii, it only made sense for us to choose a charitable organization that benefits residents of Hawaii who wish to learn to read. Upon publication of The Golf Fanatic’s Guide to Hawaii, Hot Tub Publishing pledged to donate 1% of our sales to Hawaii Literacy, a group that has helped thousands of people learn basic reading and writing skills since 1971.
Despite the fact that 1% of our sales doesn’t yet equate to $500, we felt that we wanted to make a significant contribution to such a worthy cause. Executive Director Suzanne Skjold was on hand for the passing of the check at the Hawaii Literacy offices in downtown Honolulu. It was good to learn that the operation is in such capable hands. Aloha Hawaii Literacy! And Mahalo to everyone in Hawaii who has helped make The Golf Fanatic’s Guide to Hawaii a success.

Aloha Bryan:
We just wanted to say mahalo once again for your generous donation to Hawaii Literacy. We were so excited to be selected as the recipient for proceeds for the Golf Fanatics Guide to Hawaii. I know the book will do great- it is filled with all the information both visitors and local golfers will need to pick the perfect courses. I just picked up a copy for my dad for Father’s Day, and would suggest anyone looking for a last minute gift do the same. He’ll love it!
